Since completing the course last year, I have successfully set up my own business Primrose Interiors and am on my way to producing a lovely little portfolio of work from several homes in the region.

After spending years ‘helping’ friends bring energy and personality to their interiors (and rearranging mine every 6 months!) I figured my time would be better used studying the actual principles & elements of interior design so I took the plunge and started researching distant education interior design & decoration courses.

I ended up choosing The Interior Design Academy because of their great reputation and the flexibility the course allowed. I had 3 children under 5 at the time of signing up, lived remotely in Western QLD on a cattle property with limited internet connection and funds were limited to spend purely on ‘a gut feeling’!

I was not disappointed. The Interior Design Academy was affordable, informative, practical and the support was wonderful. My lovely tutor Lisa pushed me with every tutorial and assignment with praise and constructive criticism.

When my confidence wavered, Lisa would take the time to explain how expanding creative comfort zones and understanding criticism is essential in this industry to ultimately bring out the best in my designs.

The challenge living so far from the city and suppliers is extremely testing at times, but I am slowing learning that with a little confidence, a lot of hard work, and a million references back to my course tutorials, my desire to bring the wonders of the interior world to country people and their beautiful homes will be achieved.
